Lindsay Lohan rushed to the hospital

Lindsaylohan_eating

Lindsay Lohan was rushed to St. Vincent's hospital in New York after fracturing her wrist on Friday. Apparently she slipped and fell while at a fashion week party. Easy there, Linds. You might want to think about slowing down on those cocktails once in a while.

Britney Spears's emergency preeclampsia birth

Britney

Britney Spears was suffering from preeclampsia when she gave birth to her second son, Sutton Pierce Federline, last week. The dangerous condition, causing hypertension in mothers-to-be, can only be cured by delivering the baby. When it was discovered, Britney was rushed to the hospital for an unplanned, emergency birth. She and the baby are now doing fine. It is not know for certain what  causes preeclampsia, although there is some evidence that there is a genetic predisposition for it. Other factors may include immunological responses and insulin resistance, which made me think: can insulin resistance be brought on by a crappy diet?

Pete Dohery shares his coke in rehab

Pete Doherty, Kate Moss's would-be fiance and lead singer of Babyshambles, was caught giving cocaine to a teenager at the Priory rehab clinic in London. Doherty is in the clinic after being charged with drug possession. Boy, I guess drugs aren't in short supply inside if he's got enough to go around. I'm sorry, but I'm eating right now so I can't bring myself to include a picture of him with this post. He's just too icky-looking.

Marie Osmond's non-suicide attempt

Marieosmond2Marie Osmond was hospitalized last week after blacking out in a bad reaction to some medication, says her spokeswoman. The singer spent a few days in the hospital but is now doing fine. In its August 14th edition, The National Enquirer reported that the hospitalization was due to a failed suicide attempt, but Osmond's manager Karl Engemann denies this claim, and was quoted as saying that responding to false tabloid reports has gotten so tiresome it feels "like punching Jell-O". Boy do I know how that feels.
