The "Super Bowl of the entertainment industry", The Academy Awards, was held last night. Everyone showed up looking very well-dressed and skinny. Was there anyone who didn't look skinny? Nicole, Gwyneth, Maggie. All skinny. Even Jennifer Hudson (who won Best Supporting Actress for Dreamgirls) had lost weight. Hm. Maybe the older ladies looked a bit more normal-sized. Like Meryl Streep. When Ryan Seacrest asked her on the red carpet about this being her 14th nomination, she said something like "Yes, and I'm a size 14, so it's appropriate". Oh Meryl. You still looked great.

Grammy Grammy Grammy Awards

The Grammys. They happened. Everyone looked fine. Good job, everyone! On the red carpet, it looks like Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls (above) had some sort of wardrobe malfunction and Mandy Moore (below) looked kinda depressed. Check out all the photos at Egotastic and Just Jared.

The Golden Globes

So a bunch of film and television actors got all dressed up yesterday and flocked together to see who would win some awards. I was busy watching a Sopranos DVD so I didn't catch much of the show, but needless to say, there are plenty of pictures out there. Not much to report except that Reese Witherspoon's divorce has made her drop weight like it's going out of style. She now looks like a little Barbie doll. I love her, and I love the yellow dress, but although she looks stunning, she isn't really recognizable as her cute self here.

'The Girl in the Park' filming in Brooklyn

'The Girl in the Park', a new Kate Bosworth movie, is filming in Brooklyn this morning. The movie, starring Bosworth, Sigourney Weaver, Alessandro Nivola, and Keri Russell, is a drama about a mother dealing with the loss of her daughter. The park in question may very well be the little park to which I go every morning with my dog. Craft services was set up right at the entrance (the dog politely ignored the heaping tray of muffins - but what will Kate eat?) and the set is one of the houses facing the park. So, based on the title, I'm gonna guess that Sigourney's character meets Kate's character in the park outside her house (it's a beautiful little park square), maybe even the same park from which her daughter disappeared many years ago.

Treadmill heros

OK Go just performed their treadmill dance live on the MTV Video Music Awards and pulled it off flawlessly. I am so proud. For those of you who missed it, here goes "Here It Goes Again" again (not the live version):

The Emmy Awards

The 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held last night in Los Angeles. Everyone showed up wearing lavender and looking magically svelte, no matter how flabby and saggy they've been looking in the candids lately. Maple syrup fasts? Girdles? Who knows, but it's amazing how they do it. A bunch of actors and shows won awards, but don't ask me for the details. I don't have Tivo. If there are any really good pictures of anyone looking extra fat, extra thin, extra old, or just extra scary, I'll have them tomorrow. Oh yeah, and I think Farrah Fawcett is on drugs.
